Information regarding ASD (autism spectrum disorder) Assessment
The ASD package includes a comprehensive and thorough examination of a client’s presentation to determine whether they met the criteria for autism spectrum disorder. A thorough assessment can identify and provide a better understanding of developmental difficulties and determine what kind of intervention and supports will assist an individual to reach their full potential. Assessments also include information about strengths and weaknesses and can help create personalised intervention plans while assisting to develop goals. A formal diagnosis will allow for NDIS funding that way the client is supported financially in meeting their social, emotionally, and developmental needs. Our registered psychologist Mariam Ahmar is trained in administering this assessment which includes questionnaires, observations, a thorough history, and the ADOS (Autism diagnostic Observation Schedule) assessment. These assessments are administrated dependent on the age of the client, previous assessments completed and relevancy per each case. Currently, there is no wait list for such assessments.
