Our physiotherapists work with children and adolescents across our three clinics. Common reasons parents bring children include sports injuries, post-fracture rehabilitation, developmental concerns, growth-related conditions, and ongoing support for chronic conditions. A parent or guardian is welcome in the appointment, and we adjust how we work to suit the child's age and situation. To book, call (03) 9746 6852 or book online.
What we do with children
- Sports injuries — assessment and return-to-sport rehabilitation for junior athletes
- Growth-related conditions — Osgood-Schlatter, Sever's, Sinding-Larsen-Johansson
- Post-fracture and post-surgical rehabilitation
- Developmental physiotherapy — gross motor delays, coordination concerns
- Paediatric chronic conditions — including under NDIS where physiotherapy is funded
- Posture, back pain and headache assessment in older children and teenagers
- Coordination with paediatricians, GPs and school where helpful
What an appointment may involve
- History with the parent and child — what's going on, when it started, what helps.
- Examination appropriate to the age and concern.
- Discussion — what we think is going on, options, expected timeline.
- Treatment where appropriate — gentle hands-on work, exercises, advice.
- Home program — usually a small number of specific things to try.
- Communication — with parents throughout, and (with consent) with GPs or paediatricians.
Common presentations
- Knee pain in junior athletes — particularly during growth spurts
- Ankle sprains and lower-limb sports injuries
- Back pain in older school children carrying heavy bags or doing rotation-heavy sports
- Post-fracture rehabilitation
- Foot pain — including Sever's disease
- Gait and walking-pattern concerns
- NDIS-funded physiotherapy for children with disabilities or chronic conditions

Frequently asked questions
How young can a child be seen?
We see children from infancy onwards for appropriate concerns. Reception can help you match with the right physiotherapist for the age and situation.
Should the parent stay in the appointment?
For younger children, yes — we encourage it. For adolescents, we often see them alone for at least part of the session with parental consent, which they usually prefer.
What if my child needs a paediatrician's input?
With your consent, we communicate with paediatricians and GPs where it supports your child's care.
Do you have NDIS paediatric experience?
Yes — we work with paediatric NDIS participants where physiotherapy is in the plan.
